Quarter life crisis. Pasti kalian sering banget mendengar kata-kata ini. Gw bahkan ga pernah tau kalo sebutan ini exist sampe gw ngerasain sendiri gimana pressurenya hidup bagi orang-orang yg berumur 20-something. Quarter life crisis sendiri means saat-saat dimana seseorang setelah lulus sekolah mulai ready to take on the world and expected to know what they want in order to do so. Some of them ngerasa depressed karena pressure dari outsiders, society, family and friends.
Pressure untuk memilih step awal yg menurut kita tepat sambil terus membandingkan diri kita dengan orang lain. Di saat-saat inilah biasanya kita juga sering kali merasa regret dengan pilihan-pilihan yg kita ambil semasa SMU atau kuliah. Berangan-angan andaikan bisa balik lagi ke jaman itu. Kita merasakan hal ini setelah kita mulai menyadari perbedaan pola pikir kita dengan pola pikir para remaja. Cara pandang kita juga ternyata udah sangat berbeda. Lalu kita juga jadi mulai sedikit iri melihat temen-temen yg udah lebih dulu married, punya anak, udah bisa beli rumah sendiri atau udah punya karir yg bagus.
Kebanyakan orang akan mulai terburu-buru untuk segera menikah, dikarenakan kita hidup di Indonesia dengan budaya yg setelah bekerja, umur 25 tahun, udah pasti dikejer-kejer orang tua untuk segera menikah. But as long as you’re happy dan lw emang pengen menikah, then good. I mean after all kita cuma pengen kebahagiaan kan. Menurut gw carilah apa yg benar-benar kita inginkan. Seperti kerjaan yg benar-benar kita enjoy buat ngejalaninnya. Daripada berkutat di kantor yg kita ga suka dengan segala tekanan dan tetap bertahan disana karena alasan secure. Unless ‘climbing the corporate ladder’ pada akhirnya bisa bikin kita happy itu lain cerita. That’s your choice.. once again, as long as you’re happy. Apapun yg kita kerjakan selama kita enjoy ngejalaninnya, gw yakin eventually akan membuahkan hasil yg bikin kita puas. Semua orang memang punya target-target penting dalam hidup. Tapi target-target tersebut ga harus dicapai dengan perasaan suffers juga kan. Kuncinya kenalilah diri kita sendiri dulu. Bentuklah diri kita menjadi apa yg kita mau. Hidup ini adalah proses pembelajaran dari pengalaman. “Always questioning, investigating, and wondering will serve you well.” (Kashdan).

BOOK REVIEW: ANTOLOGI RASA by: Ika Natassa
Tiga sahabat. Satu pertanyaan. What if in the person that you love, you find a best friend instead of a lover?
I borrowed this book from my friend about few weeks ago. She told me that she loves the author’s style of writing. Well, mungkin gw agak ketinggalan tentang pengarang lokal kita yg satu ini. Gw pecinta buku. Banget! Entah buku apa-apa yg ga penting pun asal nganggur pasti gw baca. But i’m not really a fan of our local author. Pengarang novel fav gw tetep Lauren Weisberger, yg bikin buku “The devil wears prada” dan “Everyone worth knowing”. It’s not because i don’t appreciate our local author, tapi lebih kepada preference gw aja yg merasa lebih seru untuk baca life style kehidupan diluar sana.
Akhirnya gw coba untuk membaca novel ini. Novel ini agak sedikit berbeda dari novel-novel lain yg pernah gw baca. Kita bener-bener bisa memahami isi dari novel ini karena kita membaca dari sudut pandang masing2 dari tiga karakter yg berbeda. Gw jadi tau banget perasaan kesel, sedih, seneng dari tiga karakter tersebut. Juga cara berinteraksi dengan masing-masing karakter. Semua yg ada disini jg real banget ngikutin gaya hidup jaman sekarang. Gak ada yg berlebihan atau dibuat-buat ala dongeng percintaan. Ada beberapa karakter yg bisa terlibat hubungan dengan lebih dari satu orang. I mean this is so real, right?! Manusiawi banget, kadang-kadang kita galau bingung milih antara si A dan si B :D Gaya bahasa yg dipake juga bener-bener ringan, menghibur sekaligus smart! Background tempat-tempat di dalam cerita juga real. Over all gw suka banget sama buku ini. I’m a new fan of Ika Natassa books! The book is simply fun, interesting and smart at the same time. I just love it! You girls should buy it!

Egisa’s comment: My fav movie of all time!! Buat kalian yg grew up di tahun 90an pasti familiar banget sama film yg satu ini. If you like a weird funny movie but also disturbing, then you will like Trainspotting. But the accents in it are kind of thick so you might have to watch some sections over a few times to get what they are saying. Ewan McGregor was super hot in this movie! C’mon it’s a Danny Boyle movie. There is must be a kool thing in it! ;)
